Microsoft and the Renault-Nissan Alliance announced an agreement to join forces in the development of pipe connected worldwide.
Under the agreement, both companies will develop Azure cloud offering from Microsoft and provide a host of new services.
These new services aim to produce improved navigation, remote monitoring features of the car, over-the-air updates, predictive maintenance and better mobile experiences. The flexibility of Microsoft Azure will also allow Renault-Nissan to effectively deploy its services in all of its brands and the full range of models.
All told, the collaboration aims to better connect car owners with their work, entertainment and social networks in an effort to better integrate the vehicles into consumers' lives.
According to Renault-Nissan's senior vice president of Connected vehicles and mobility services, Ogi Redzic, "A car is increasingly connected and intelligent staff. In partnership with Microsoft allows us to accelerate the development of key technologies associated necessary to enable scenarios our customers want and build all new they even imagined. Our goal is to become the supplier of mobility for everybody connected with a single global platform. "
Jean-Philippe Courtois Microsoft expanded on this by saying" Renault-Nissan is an outstanding partner with global presence and range of brands that allow him to bring completely new mobile and digital experiences as people. This collaboration will bring a new standard for connected cars. "
