the wheels of 48 new vehicles have been stolen at a Chevrolet dealer in Tyler (Texas) over the weekend.
the local police said that at about 01:00 on Sunday, the thieves cut the locks to the rear parking lot of the trader, where most of the cars were stored. On the four hours that followed, the Group caught thieves escape with more $200,000 of wheels and tires.
security cameras were unable to identify the thieves because they hit the lights in the parking lot before going on the wheel fly rampage.
targeted cars included several Chevrolet Camaro, sleepers and Silverado Pickup, reports News Auto .
the general manager of Chevrolet Peltier, David Bates said he is in contact with the insurance company of the dealer to have the tires and wheels replaced. He also revealed that some of the vehicles have been damaged because of the way they were left sitting on concrete blocks.
