Aston Martin continues to pay tribute to the aviation industry in Britain with the V12 Vantage S Spitfire 80.

This exclusive variant of the hand built sports car will be offered by the same dealer (Aston Martin Cambridge) that came with the V8 Vantage S "Blades Edition."

Aston Martin Cambridge controlled only 80 of these models form the Q Aston Martin customization service to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the most iconic British warplane of all time: The Supermarine Spitfire.

Like the single-seat fighter that was used by the Royal Air Force and many other Allied countries before, during and after World War II, the Aston Martin is powered by a V12 engine. With 565 hp and 457 lb.-ft. (620 N m) of torque at its disposal, the vehicle does not come with a power punch to the standard variant, but it does sport many custom goodies.

In addition to the carbon fiber appendages satin and attention to detail of Q, Aircraft Restoration Company Duxford has hand built a wide range of components, reminiscent of the Spitfire, including the boards of exhaust (finished in a rainbow effect "flower") and an aluminum bar in the cabin that is inspired by the rear strut brace the plane.

All cars will be completed in the special green Duxford, with yellow stripes on the sides to mimic the appearance of a Spitfire.

The cabin received a personal touch and Q, wearing specially embroidered logos on the headrests, and a plethora of design elements related to aviation. According to Autocar, buyers can also add accessories to their purchase, including a Spitfire jacket Irvin 80 special and a flight helmet and goggles.

The price tag for a road-legal "Spitfire" is £ 39,505 ($ 52,559) more than normal V12 Vantage S ', for a total of £ 180,000 ($ 239,634). Probably a bit steep, but for each car sold, Cambridge Aston Martin will donate welfare charity Royal Air Force.
