Infiniti does not intend to offer high-performance variants of its models to compete with the likes of BMW M and Mercedes AMG. Not yet at least.
Currently, Q60 Cup now offer similar performance to the Mercedes-AMG C43, but for now, this is as fast as the model will get.
Under the Principal Infiniti product strategy Gerardo Carmona who spoke to For tips a true competitor to cars of the German trio performance of divisions could start at some point, but not in the near future.
"This is never going to be off the table, because Infiniti is all about performance, a highly sculpted and artisan way. But unfortunately it is not going to come very soon. Everything is up for review, and we have a lot of options in the R & D group we currently focusing on the 400 hp and although we do not currently have ambition for this car to go and compete with vehicles you mentioned, as to do something more, which is something that we are not yet able to disclose. "
This is a far cry from a few years ago when Infiniti apparently approved Eau Rouge Concept Nissan GT-R-powered for production.
