as you can see at the beginning of the video, the rear end is in pretty bad shape, and as suggested by Bmwblog we assume also the engineer received the rear replace another damaged series 7 (donor car) that was still intact in this section.
welding starts only once all steps have been completed and the engineer makes sure that everything is aligned and rear doors close properly - otherwise, what is the point of the reconstruction of a luxury car?
after welding back it in place, it finally passes to install the lid of the trunk and the rear lights, before adding the bumper as well. I hope that all the electrical bits always do what they are supposed to do – as the opening/closing trunk button.
