Mazda North American Operations is recalling 190 102 units of the CX-7, produced from February 14, 2006, until May 9, 2012.
the decisions were made after seven reports on the separation of the lower joints ball was received. Mazda has collected parts of the field, as part of the investigation in which it found that the intrusion of saltwater in the fittings joint ball could cause corrosion.
in extreme cases, the patella can separate from the forearm of control, causing a loss of control, which increases the risk of accidents.
as a priority, Mazda is all first address affected 2007-2008 and 2009-2011 vehicles registered in the following States: Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin and the District of Columbia. The rest are seen will be recalled when parts become available.
the remedy is to replace the two lower forearm, an operation that will be performed for free. Mazda will notify owners on 10 October.
