patents patents emerge from the mysterious Yamaha amphibious car

Yamaha may have recently given the automotive world a taste of what it's concoct and now patents emerged from what could become creating more unique of the motorcycle manufacturer yet.

discovered by autoguiding and found within the Japanese Patent Office, the picture above shows the design of a functional amphibious car that designers and engineers at Yamaha have imagined.

the Japanese filing says that the subject matter of the patent is "to provide a vehicle including a structure that allows a wheel to store in a body without needing a width of body for wide vehicles."

translated simply, the amphibious car has four wheels that can fold up in the body of the vehicle when it hit the water and turns into a boat. If you look closely, the folding of the car wheel hubs are visible showing that Yamaha has put some thought into the vehicle, rather than just design something that will never see the light of day.

a few additional details about the amphibious car in the photo have been provided, including whether or not he could see the light of day. However, the filing reveals that the vehicle is fitted with a 'water propulsion engine' to use when it is on the water.

while it seems little probable Yamaha will put such a creation in production, we would be quite surprised to see debut as a concept in the course of two or three years.
