Lotus Designs Smart Fortwo All large -Electric mini concept car

The result is an extremely compact mini-size car equipped with a 37kW-strong electric motor. Like many other electric vehicles, power is supplied by a lithium-ion battery 10 kW that is placed under the floor and can be recharged in three and a half hours through a standard household plug 13A. The vehicle would have a range of about 50 km or 30 miles when it would be able to reach a top speed around 65 mph or 105 kmh.
Only 2,600 mm or 102.4. in length, 1600 mm or 63 inches. wide, 1700 mm or 67-in. in height and with a wheelbase of 2,000 mm or 78.7-in. Lotus designed the Mini is roughly the same size as the two-seater Smart Fortwo and much lower than the Toyota iQ 3 + 1 seats.
Nevertheless, Hethel designers say that mini can accommodate up to four people, although the two rear passengers will most likely feel like a pack of sardines. Alternatively, the rear seats can be folded down to provide space for luggage. Driver and passengers enter the car through a pair of sliding side doors.
The mini-car would use an aluminum chassis in the ground while according to Russell Carr, Head of Lotus Design, the body would be pressed aluminum materials or composite, based on volume of sales.
Lotus stresses that the design of the mini-car was completed in about two weeks instead of the typical design phase that lasts between three and six months, means that the project is more of a sketch than anything else. And to prevent any kind of rumors, the magazine said that this vehicle was not designed as a city car Lotus but as a concept that could be developed to a third party manufacturer.
