the facelifted Porsche 911 Carrera and Carrera S parted with their boxers naturally sucked into a new order, 3.0 liter Twin-Turbo flat-six engine. Both models now have an overall increase of 20hp and 60Nm (44 lb ft) when compared to their predecessors. The new engines can turn up to 7 500 rpm that sounds not too bad for a turbo engine.
Porsche said that thanks to the new engine, the new 911 Carrera and Carrera S are up to 12% more energy efficient than before, with an average of 7.4lt / 100 km (31.8 mi/gal U.S.) and 7.7lt / 100 km (30.5 mi/gal U.S.) respectively and when equipped with the PDK dual clutch box.
how fast I hear you ask? A 911 Carrera Cup KDP and Chrono Sport Pack is now the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 295 km/h (183 mph). Similarly, the most powerful model Carrera S 911 with the same options can go down the first figure under the brand of 4s, which means 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 308km / h (191 mph).
the styling has been refreshed using the usual recipe: different bumper, redesigned headlights with integrated daytime front lights, a rear engine cover revised with air intakes different necessary for the cooling of the new engines and a set of taillights revised among others. Porsche has also added a 7-inch Infotainment system and a smaller, 918-style wheel which are the main improvements of the cabin.
the first public appearance of the facelifted 991 at the Frankfurt Motor Show was somehow overshadowed by the unveiling of the magnificent and electric Mission E Concept, but it does not affect anything whatsoever of the importance of this new model, which goes on sale in Germany early in December and the United States in March 2016.
