rally Champion Mark Higgins British took over in the road course edition Isle of Man TT break the previous lap record , he won in 2011 with the old Subaru WRX STI to 30.7 seconds and the record for average speed for cars rose a little more than 3 mph (~ 5 km) in all new (US-spec) 2015 Subaru WRX STI.
Higgins, who recorded a time of 19 minutes and 26 seconds with an average speed of 116,470 mph (187,40 kph) to the TT today, said he could have done even better.
"it was quite a turn that we have done today and I'm really happy to have another record in the Bank. The chassis on this new car is so that better it really allowed me to pick up time in each sector in the more technical parts of the race,"said Higgins. "I think it's really time that we left on the course. I lost time on the second part of the track, passing from my point of view the corner braking sign Post. I actually hand-brake turn in the end, so I think that we can certainly do better. "
