Mazda raised the sails off the coast of the MX-5 25 Anniversary Edition to the New York Auto Show a model which marks a quarter of a century since the beginnings of the most popular roadster in the world. With more than 940 000 units produced for three generations, the wedges of the MX - 5 (sold as the Miata in the United States) for the best-selling Guinness World Record two-seater sports car.
based on the 2.0-litre 160PS (158PS) retractable hard top model with six-speed manual or automatic transmission, the Mazda MX-5 25th Anniversary Edition is available exclusively with a red metal outdoor soul with a shiny black, roof, amounts and side mirrors. The contrasting interior is available in broken white leather and door panels with a decorative Panel finished by hand in black Piano. The anniversary model rolls on the rims alloy 17-inch Dark Gunmetal and devices Bilstein shock absorbers.
Mazda says he paid meticulous attention to the weight and balance of the moving parts of the engine, with components such as pistons, rods and the wheel being preferably light low inertia and the original tolerance of these components being extremely fine set. Engineers have chosen the lighter and better balanced parts for inclusion into the engine, with the result being a motor that makes a power even more freely, "providing extraordinary response and acceleration as well as a deeply satisfying engine note," according to Mazda.
alongside the special edition model, Mazda will also present the newly developed Skyactiv chassis that will underpin the generation MX-5 . On the screen with the motor, it will be the first adaptation of Skyactiv technology in a front Mid-ship engine, rear-wheel drive layout.
the fourth generation of MX - 5 will include a center of gravity lower, with the engine located nearer the center of the car, resulting in the most compact yet for the MX-5 configuration. Mazda also said weight total will be reduced more than 100kg (220 lbs) compared to the current model, while at the same time rigidity and crash-worthiness will be strengthened.
