BMW is working on a new battery for the i3 to improve the range of their popular electric model.
the German automaker will introduce a new lithium-ion battery having the same ability that you used so far, but with higher power for an improved range density. coach indicates that the new battery will allow the i3 to offer more than 124 miles (200km) of the range in real terms on a single charge. The current model offers less than 100 miles from the beach.
BMW has managed to develop the new battery by taking advantage of advances in technology of battery from 2013, when the i3 made his debut.
the new battery will be installed at both the all-electric and models of i3-extension that uses an efficient petrol engine to charge the battery as well. The upgrade will include the new software for the battery, cooling system and electric motor as well.
BMW will offer the new battery as a retro option - did for the current owners of i3 as well.
